Antoine RIBOUD, CEO of BSN Gervais Danone is interviewed on stage by Jean Louis SERVAN SCHREIBER. Since his speech at the Assises of the CNPF in Marseille in 1972, the economic situation has changed. He explains that in order to save jobs in a period of economic recession, it is necessary to anticipate and allow occupational retraining. It is not possible to retain industrial jobs whose products have become obsolete because of changes in the economic market. The problem of employment therefore depends on the managerial policy of the companies, but also on political decisions, as for the issues of reducing working time or retirement age. BSN pays particular attention to social plans and tries to offer new jobs to redundant employees.
