The cinema according to Marguerite Duras and Dominique Noguez
The cinema according to Marguerite Duras and Dominique Noguez
Marguerite DURAS and Dominique NOGUEZ define "different cinema": "to make different cinema is a political act, of rupture, of refusal... of liberation". Dominique NOGUEZ makes the parallel with the American underground cinema in which young directors have found a way to free themselves from the shackles of the norms of the Hollywood system. Marguerite DURAS says that she began to make cinema out of weariness in front of the cinema of consumption, "to no longer undergo it". She adds that cinema says "different" is "a minority cinema, oppression..."
