Ecocert: the French certification body for organic farming
Ecocert is the body responsible for enforcing the rules of organic farming. The specifications of organic farming prohibit any use of fertilizers and chemical pesticides. Inspectors regularly visit farmers to check good agricultural practices and ensure that products used, particularly for disease and pest control, do not contain prohibited substances. Samples are also collected for laboratory analysis. Serge Le HEURTE, filmed during two inspections, explains his work as a controller at Ecocert.
