At the beginning of the twentieth century Haulme’s family immigrated to southern Madagascar at Fort Dauphin. They cultivate sisal and are now the head of a modern company that actively participates in the economic activity of the region and that hires many Malagasy. Following independence, Haulme’s family decided to stay in Madagascar but the future is uncertain.
