Preparations for resumption of nuclear tests at Mururoa

In Mururoa, the military, technicians and engineers resumed their activities with a view to resuming nuclear tests. The upcoming test will qualify the TN75, the next atomic bomb that will equip the nuclear submarines. The images of the atoll, the manipulations of the engineers and technicians, as well as the equipment and devices mobilized for this test (container, barge, drilling tower) alternate with the interviews of Serge CHICHE, CEA Electronics Engineer, who acknowledges that the trial shutdown period may have resulted in the loss of some of the mastery of this technology and of General Paul Véricel, Commander of the Mururoa base, who claims to be confident despite Greenpeace’s destabilization operations.
