Sinking of the Erika, oil slick and martyrdom of the Brittany coast: on December 12, 1999 the Maltese tanker chartered by Total Fina, Erika, breaks in two in the storm about fifty kilometers from the Brittany point. It sinks in 120 metres of water, spilling about 20,000 tonnes of heavy fuel oil on the Breton and vendean coasts. The pollution is progressing towards the south of the coast and the plan to pump the fuel contained in the wreck of the Erika, will not be able to begin for several months. Interview with Louis DESHOMMES, Captain of "L'Abeille Supporter" explaining, with the controller in hand, the way to guide this robot.
