Made in France: the manufacture of the Bic ballpoint pen

Immerse yourself in the Bic factory of Montévrain, in Seine-et-Marne, the world’s first factory, to discover the production of ballpoint pens. A rather simple tool in appearance, but which requires fifteen hours of work to produce it. All the innovation is in the ball, a technique unchanged for 80 years. To design the pens, the manufacturer must perform nearly 70 checks. Once the mine balls are made, they will be tested with the 50 m writing test. Interviews with Éric PESTOUR, production manager at BIC Factory, Montévrain and Nathalie, employee.
