The Syrian president said: "we constantly reflect on the Palestinian affair which is our business, just as the exiled Palestinian people are part of our people (...) We act to strengthen Arab solidarity and cohesion and, whenever we succeed, we consider that the unity of the Arab ranks is strengthened and that this brings us closer to a just solution and an equitable peace."
