Anti-Maastricht Speech by Philippe Seguin at the National Assembly

Debate in the National Assembly to examine the draft reform of the Constitution, before the ratification of the Maastricht agreements and a draft objection of inadmissibility. Philippe SÉGUIN strongly opposed this project, evoking the French Revolution of 1789 in this regard. Extract from the speech of Philippe SEGUIN, deputy RPR: "... Logic of the process of the gear... Federalism at a discount , the Europe that is proposed to us is neither free nor democratic...1992 is the anti 1789..." and the statement of the other opposition deputies Charles MILLON, U.D.F. deputy: "I do not wish that we engage in false quarrels" and of Pierre MEHAIGNERIE, UDC deputy. Vote: motion was denied
