Spelling reform: controversy between Bernard Pivot and Maurice Druon
Spelling reform: controversy between Bernard Pivot and Maurice Druon
In 1990, the reform of spelling was still controversial, after the publication in the official journal of new recommendations under the high authority of the Académie Française. Bernard PIVOT, initially in favour of this modernization, has been opposed since the publication to the president of the French Academy Maurice Druon. Bernard PIVOT discusses how the text could be voted and Jean DUTOUR, an academician, explains his point of view.
