A few months after the creation of the Community by General de Gaulle, Pierre CORVAL took stock with some of the leaders of the Member States of the Community and Robert LECOURT, Minister of State for Cooperation with the States of the Community. Sourou Migan APITHY, Prime Minister of the Republic of Dahomey, spoke of France’s assistance to the member states. He considers France to be the "big sister" of the African states which expect from her technical and financial assistance.
