Report on the establishment in China of a French company, Axon, specializing in the manufacture of cables. Women workers' wages are 25 times lower than in France, but they claim to be satisfied with their working conditions, better than in Chinese companies. Axon justifies this establishment by the need to be there to penetrate the Asian market. Axon’s French engineers train their Chinese counterparts. This knowledge transfer may allow China to overtake Europe and the United States in the future. Comment on factual images of the factory, of the premises where the workers are housed. Interviews of workers and a French engineer.
