The Accor group is celebrating its 40th anniversary in Lesquin, at the first Novotel built in 1967, in the presence of the region’s big bosses. The words are illustrated by images of the places, archive images and interviews with the founders of the group, Paul DUBRULE and Gérard PELISSON.
Gérard PELISSON, co-founder of the Accor group, evokes the idea that presides over the launch of the Accor group and the fincancement of the first hotels: investment of family and friends, holding.
Gérard PELISSON and Paul DUBRULE, founders of the Accord Group, the first European hotel group, present themselves with images of their preparation at home in the morning and their departure for the company’s headquarters. They talk about their family situation, their studies, their meeting and their beginnings in the hotel industry.
Gérard PELISSON, co-founder of the Accor group, talks about the advantage of being two at the head of the group: "the fact of being two is an extraordinary force", "the fact of being two prevented us from making a lot of mistakes". Without Paul Dubrule he would have done nothing.
The famous culinary institute Paul Bocuse will soon expand thanks to the acquisition of an old castle. Dominique GIRAUDIER, Director General of the Bocuse Institute, explains that this extension will allow the distribution of the institute’s three divisions: culinary arts, hospitality, innovation and research. Gérard PELISSON, co-founder of the Accor group and co-founder of the Institute with Paul Bocuse in 1990 says: "I never had in my life any idea other than to progress, to go forward... this school is destined to become a great school."
