In the Emile Hermès Museum in Paris, Ménehould DU CHATELLE, curator of the Emile Hermès Museum in Paris, presents a necklace shape, an object that comes from Hermès' first workshop dating from 1837. She explains the use that was made of this tool which was used to form a harness to the exact measurements of a horse. It also describes the hardware, with the metal parts of the object. According to Ménehould DU CHATELLE, this necklace shape is a founding object of the Hermès company, which is still used today by the designers of the Hermès house for jewellery, watches or bag clasps.
