Debate on medical deserts revived by a dramatic delivery in the Lot

A report on the death of a premature baby on the highway, his mother having had to give birth in an emergency in her car while travelling to the maternity hospital in Brive-la-Gaillarde, Corrèze, an hour’s drive from her home in the Lot. In this department there’s only one maternity ward left. An investigation is under way to try to elucidate the circumstances of this tragedy, which resuscitates the debate on medical deserts. Interviews with Nicole PAULO, Mayor (PS) of Figeac, a mother and Martin MALVY, President (PS) of the Conseil Régional Midi-Pyrénées, alternating with a comment on illustrations and infographics.
