Gérard HOLTZ, live from the Alpes d'Huez, interviews Yves NOIREL, representative of TDF, Télé Diffusion de France. The latter details the infrastructures put in place to broadcast the Tour de France. The images made daily by the SFP cameras are captured by small parables on a mobile antenna, and transmitted to the bus which manufactures the television programme. A larger satellite dish sends the program to Antenne 2 in Paris, after a trip of twice 36,000 kilometres in space. The montage of the images of the stage is then broadcast via the TDF network to the television receivers of the spectators. He then comments on the technical configuration between the parables and the satellite.

L'ingénieur en chef de la télévision Bernard GENSOUS décrit les moyens techniques mis en oeuvre pour la retransmission du Tour de France. Une voiture de prise de vue directe dotée de deux caméras est placée à l'arrivée et c'est une moto avec un caméraman qui filme le peloton. Cette moto, mise au point par les services techniques de l'ORTF, est équipée d'une antenne qui communique avec l'hélicoptère qui assure la transmission des images et les plans aériens. Le journaliste précise que la télévision française a été la première à tenter une liaison moto-hélicoptère. La prouesse technique mobilise de nombreux réalisateurs, commentateurs, techniciens et ingénieurs tout au long des 5000 kilomètres de cet évènement sportif.
