The wreck of the Saint-Exupéry plane formally identified

The wreck of the Lockheed P-38 Lightning piloted by Commander Antoinde of SAINT-EXUPERY on the day of his disappearance in flight, on July 31, 1944, is in temporary storage at the Istres air base before going to join the Air and Space Museum of Le Bourget. Representing barely 10% of the total weight of the aircraft, these parts are precious, especially thanks to the serial number ("2734 L") engraved on the cabin which allows to authenticate in a certain way the machine which rested off Marseille by 72 meters of bottom. Explanations of Pierre BECKER (CEO of Géocéan) and Philippe CASTELLANO (passionate about aviation history, president of the association "Re. L.I.C.").
