Girls trained to be good housewives

Near Arras, in Montchy-le-Preux, a household school was created by the Caisses de mutualité sociale agricole. It is here that young girls from rural families are trained to become "perfect mothers of families and no less perfect housewives". In this context, the teaching of cooking holds an important place. The journalist adds: "We get to envy the happy men who will later share the life of these charming students". In addition, young women must be able to balance their budget and therefore take family management courses.
