This is one of the bloodiest episodes of the Algerian war, which occurred after the signing of the Evian Accords. After 8 years of war, on July 5, 1962 (the day of Algeria’s independence), between 2,000 and 3,000 people died or disappeared in the streets of Oran. The French army did not intervene. 40 years later, the Blackfoot community remembers...
