In Montpellier, the Saint-Roch is a traditional festival. Every summer, the city celebrates its patron saint. The deputy Muriel RESSIGUIER, elected of France Insoumise, accuses the town hall of going against the principle of secularism by subsidizing the organizing association of the event: "If you give subsidies to a church...it means that you favor this religion, and that’s why it is forbidden".
