Inauguration of the canalized Moselle

Inauguration of the canalized Moselle

The channeling of the Moselle to the Rhine is a joint work of the French, German and Luxembourg states. Beyond its economic interest, this waterway that connects Metz to Koblenz and then to Rotterdam via the Rhine is a symbol. It brought together the heavy industry of Lorraine with that of the Ruhr, formerly rivals, and represented a stage in the construction of Europe.
