Alain Finkielkraut: "I was a Maoist between May 68 and the end of June 68"
Alain FINKIELKRAUT explains to Bernard PIVOT what very briefly attracted him to the Maoist movement in 1968, causing laughter among the guests. After digressing on his meeting with the former Maoist militant Benny Levy in 1980 who nicknamed him "The Libidinal", the philosopher recognizes that the khagneux a little "white beak" that he was at the time "wanted to be": "The bourgeois spirit does not have the monopoly of conformism: there is a conformism of revolt," says Alain FINKIELKRAUT. He adds that what also attracted him to the Maoists was the movement’s critical view of students, which distinguished him from others.
