Henri Noguères on the primary vocation and origin of the LDH
Henri NOGUERES, president of the Ligue des Droits de l'Homme, revisits the primary vocation of the LDH which is "the defense of human rights in France and by France". Danielle MARION FONDANECHE, lawyer and member of the LDH, recalls that the League was born on the occasion of the Dreyfus case. Henri NOGUERES reads an excerpt from a speech by Léon Blum delivered at a congress of the LDH in 1937: "the league has set itself the task, to protect the individual taken as human unity or as civic unity against illegality and arbitrariness".
