At a press conference in Paris, during which a statement signed by 12,000 mayors and general councillors opposed the current abortion bill was presented. Pierre BAS, deputy of Paris and chairman of the meeting, said that "the solution is not the legal right to kill". According to him, however, the State must help women in difficulty.
