The Minister of Culture, Jacques Toubon, has introduced a bill to prohibit the use of foreign terms in advertising, to require companies to use French in their contracts and internal regulations, and to ban the exclusive use of English at congresses. Jacqueline de ROMILLY, a member of the Academy of Letters, said in this regard: "We have reached the point, regardless of any national pride, where we no longer understand everything". And when the question is asked to French people, many say they are very attached to the words "in French"...
