Sur le plateau de Bernard Pivot, l'ethnologue et ancienne résistante et déportée Germaine Tillion explique en quoi, même dans une situation extrême comme celle de la déportation, sa passion pour l'ethnologie l'a aidée à survivre : "Probablement que j'ai exercé mon métier d'ethnologue à l'intérieur du camp [de Ravensbruck NDD] et cela m'a protégée car le fait d'essayer de déchiffrer quelque chose que l'on a sous les yeux, la recherche, ça vous soutient, c'est intense..."
