Crowds for President Richard Nixon on the Champs Elysées

US President Richard NIXON was on an official visit to Paris. After being received by General de Gaulle, Richard Nixon went to the Arc de Triomphe to lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier. During his descent of the Champs Elysées, breaking through a compact crowd, he climbed on the hood of his presidential limousine to greet the people who came to cheer him on.
