Tjibaou Center: The meeting between an architect and the kanak culture

The architect Renzo PIANO is the guest of the newspaper on the occasion of the inauguration of the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, a public institution intended to promote Kanak culture, located between the bays of Tina and Magenta, on a peninsula on the outskirts of Nouméa, in New Caledonia. He is interviewed on how he worked with the leaders of the ADCK (Kanak Culture Development Agency) to get his architectural project admitted by avoiding the "picturesque" or "folk" side.
