Hubert Beuve-Méry On His Appointment To The Newspaper "le Monde"
Interview with Hubert BEUVE-MERY who evokes the birth of the newspaper "Le Monde". He explained that General De Gaulle had asked his information minister to help him produce a newspaper that was a major newspaper. Gradually, things turned to him because he was a former diplomatic editor of the newspaper "Le Temps", because he had resigned from the newspaper at the time of Munich and because he had returned from the maquis. So this set of circumstances had made it appear as the right one.
