Annie ERNAUX has just received the Renaudot Prize for her book "The Place", a book dedicated to her father that evokes the gap that had widened between her and her father, a peasant then a small merchant, while she was studying. She wanted to revive her cultural heritage without turning it into a novel, to stay close to what makes life.
