Collecting milk in boats on the canals

In the Marais Poitevin, the peasants fetch milk in a boat. The milk cans are then loaded onto a horse-drawn carriage, emptied into a cistern and transported by train to Paris despite the war that affects milk transport. The Red Cross distributes this milk primarily in children’s centers.
