Frédéric Joliot-Curie is dead: a reminder of his life
Frédéric JOLIOT-CURIE died on August 14, 1958 and for 2 days, the Parisian population came to bring him his tribute of admiration and regret. This great physicist and chemist presented with his wife Irène JOLIOT-CURIE in 1945 the first French atomic pile to President AURIOL. The commentary on images of the catafalque, the cushion with the Commander’s Cross of the Legion of Honour, flowers in the chapel of fire, of the scrolling public and images of the ZOE presentation archive alternates with an archive of Frédéric Joliot-Curie during his speech for the inauguration of the first French atomic pile.
