The limits of the AB label and the emergence of alternative labels
Faced with the limits and inconsistencies of the French organic label AB, some producers have joined alternative labels. In France, there are three: Demeter, Nature et Progrès and Les simples. These are associations that have written their own specifications, more complete and more draconian than the charter of French organic agriculture. Philippe RHODES, organic farmer and beekeeper, explains why the official system has become too rigid and too expensive.
