Summary of the steps taken by France since 1952 to develop its own atomic bomb. The presence of uranium in the national territory made possible the start of experiments at the Marcoule site, which is gradually equipped with 3 batteries. It? is in these piles that was elaborated the plutonium necessary for the development of the bomb. Presentation of the devices developed to handle the latter.
