During his first press conference, Jacques CHIRAC announced the resumption of nuclear tests, which had ended under his predecessor François Mitterrand. He goes on to say that we would all prefer not to have to repeat nuclear tests, unfortunately we stopped them a little too early, in April 1992. That is, before the series that was supposed to allow us to finish was finished.” It also says “there are no ecological consequences whatsoever”.
