10 May 1981: the party in the bastille

Shortly after the announcement of the victory of the socialist candidate François Mitterrand in the second round of the presidential election, and at the call of Lionel Jospin to a rally at the Bastille, supporters converged on the square to celebrate the event in music. The storm does not affect the enthusiasm of the participants who even shout "Long live the storm! Long live the rain!" , others are sheltering under improvised tarpaulins, while a young woman reacts to the victory of François Mitterrand: "it’s fantastic... we are going to have a new era... long live France".
