Jacques Chirac: National solidarity at the service of the integration of people with disabilities

Jacques Chirac made it one of the "major projects" of his five-year term: the Head of State launched a "call for mobilization" in favor of people with disabilities, on the occasion of the establishment of the National Advisory Council of Persons with Disabilities (CNCPH) and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. He announces: "National solidarity must enable people with disabilities and their families to build a real project of integration and personal success. I have proposed that people with disabilities should be able to contact a single point of contact to define the appropriate responses to their needs, so that a network could be set up throughout the country and coordinated by a national disability agency".
