Georges Pompidou: "Marking the social significance of government action"

During a televised speech, President Georges Pompidou addresses the issue of the government’s social policy: "My concern was also to mark the social significance of our action by avoiding putting the burden of recovery on workers and on the most modest categories, and in development participation through real and practical measures ... the measures taken in accordance with what I had promised in favour of the returnees, the handicapped, the elderly, the families ... All this is part of the perspective of a more just and humane society".
