The drinking water plant in Neuilly-sur-Marne supplies a million inhabitants of Ile de France. It draws its raw material directly from La Marne, a river chronically polluted by pesticides and especially atrazine, a highly polluting product. To purify the water, ozone is used, combined, if necessary, with hydrogen peroxide and activated charcoal. Analyses are performed daily during seasonal pollution peaks between April and July.
