For or against the abolition of the agreement of the past participation

Two Belgian professors, Arnaud Hoedt and Jérôme Piron, authors of "La faute de l'orthographe", advocate the modification of the rule of agreement of the past participle which they consider absurd. The proposal is not unanimous, neither among the passers-by interviewed nor among the specialists. Bernard Pivot says he is in favour of the opposite of academician Jean-Marie Rouart or Bernard Fripiat, historian of the French language, who believes that it is not the spelling that must be simplified but the way to explain it.
