Le Corbusier and religious architecture

Interviewed about his relationship to religious architecture, the architect Le Corbusier evokes the construction of the church of Notre Dame de Ronchamp and strongly opposes the critics who have described his work as "baroque". "That’s an abominable word that I don’t accept," he says. Then he talks about the Notre Dame de la Tourette convent in Eveux: "I did my work as an architect, I brought a little ineffable space at the disposal of people who are chic types".
