Interview with Annette WIEVIORKA, historian member of the MATTEOLI mission: "In the camp (of Drancy) was opened a caisse of the camp where were recorded the sums or objects that the detainees deposited. A certain Maurice KIFFER kept the accounts of these funds meticulously. Upon release, only a tiny fraction of the rights holders, detainees and deportees were able to claim his money. 177 accounts out of several thousand have been returned, which is derisory.
