Collision Of Oil Tankers Off Brittany: Gino Sinking

Collision Of Oil Tankers Off Brittany: Gino Sinking

On April 28, 1979, there was a new threat of an oil spill in Brittany: the Liberian oil tanker Le Gino coming from Port Arthur, Texas to Le Havre and transporting 32,000 tons of carbon black oil, sank following a collision with a Norwegian tanker Team Castor. The sinking took place off the coast of Finistère to the south of the rail, this wide navigation corridor, which is under the surveillance of the national navy. Interview with Pierre BELIER, director of the Cedar, on the density of the oil slick, which deduces that it will not go to the surface.
