First avalanche dog training course in France

For several days, the avalanche dogs and their owner followed a training in the search for victims with the company of Briançon Montagane high gendarme on the slopes of Montgenèvre. It was the first training course organized in France, previously only Switzerland offered these rescue exercises. The journalist filmed the exercise of the dog Plouf and interviewed Colonel PUYAUBERT, director of the kennel of the national gendarmerie. Until today, nothing replaces the role of dogs in the search for buried people, they take less than a minute to spot them.

Quelques mois après le tsunami survenu sur les côtes thaïlandaises, les recherches des corps des victimes mortes dans l'hôtel de Khao Lak se poursuivent avec l'aide d'un chien berger belge nommé Pyrrhus. L'animal est capable de repérer des parties de corps humain en décomposition ou momifiées. Cependant les recherches sont rendues difficiles à cause de la mousson, l'odorat du chien est entravé par l'eau. C'est le dernier espoir des familles qui n'ont pas pu récupérer les restes de leurs proches dans les décombres avant le déblaiement des ruines. Le journaliste demande des précisions à Jean-Luc Marti-Nauger, dresseur de la gendarmerie nationale, Aimé Conigliaro, institut de recherche criminelle de la gendarmerie et Thierry Velu, du groupe de secours en catastrophe, avant de conclure face caméra.

As part of a training of the fire brigade, an earthquake simulation was organized in Nice in order to plan the organization of the relief, especially with the dog handlers of the Alpes Maritimes department. A good search dog in rubble must not be afraid of fire, of being boarded in a helicopter, he must be obedient and trust his master. Dog centre in the Alps
