Born in 1933 in Cairo, Iolanda Gigliotti known as Dalida is a mythical singer naturalized French. Author of planetary tubes like "Let me dance" or "Bésame mucho", the icon who suffered from depression committed suicide. A tragic fate.
Interviewed by Jacqueline JOUBERT, DALIDA says she spent her childhood in Cairo before arriving in Paris during the winter of 1954. Arriving in Paris, having little means, she sang in cabarets and took singing lessons. She tells the story of the game of dice (421) between two artistic directors that led them to come to see her at the Olympia of Bruno COQUATRIX.
Pierre BOUTEILLER questions DALIDA about her way of life which she describes as "human life". She talks about her relationships with men and then about not having children, a subject on which she does not wish to dwell.
Interviewed by Denise GLASER, DALIDA recounts her 6-month tour on the roads of France that ended at the Olympia. "It was like a performance," she said. She also talks about her taste for the stage and her audience.
Interviewed by Pierre TCHERNIA, DALIDA explains how his stage name was born and gives his real name: Yolanda GIGLIOTTI. Then she evokes her first playback at the age of four for a school party.
Dalida is invited on the set of the show in the presence of people who have had an influence in her life. After mentioning her suicide attempt out of love, the singer talks about this difficult period that lasted 4 years, the support of her brother Bruno (Orlando) and Guy PITCHAL, her psychoanalyst who comes to join her on the set.
