PS division around primaries
On the left, we wonder about the strategy of the primaries in view of the presidential elections of 2012. The question is whether they are still justified after the last polls concerning the strong progress of Marine Le PEN. Many are questioning and the debate is divisive. For Michel VAUZELLE, president of the Provence Côte d'Azur region, it would be suicidal in the current context to organize primaries, a source of division: "The PS must set an example by removing primaries that are no longer a good idea today." Jean Marie LE GUEN, MP from Paris and support of Dominique STRAUSS KAHN: "I think that a certain number of candidates declared today will have to join the candidacy of Dominique STRAUSS KAHN. I am thinking of François HOLLANDE. Martine Aubry said herself that she would not be a candidate against Dominique Strauss Kahn." Bruno LE ROUX, deputy for Seine St Denis and support of François HOLLANDE: "No. Everything justifies today that there is a process that can be carried out to make the choice between Dominique STRAUSS KAHN, Martine AUBRY and François HOLLANDE." For Martine AUBRY, there is no question of burying the primaries under pressure, especially since they allow him to stay in the game.
