PS primaries: Claude Bartolone triggers controversy
Story of the controversy triggered by the PS Deputy of Seine-Saint-Denis Claude Bartolone, concerning the election of a candidate in the primaries of the Socialist Party for the presidential election 2012. In an interview on France Inter, he implied that the selection of the socialist presidential "would be played in advance" (between Martine Aubry and Dominique Strauss-Kahn) and that these primaries would be, in a way, "only a ratification". For Manuel VALLS, deputy PS of Essonne, "There can be no arrangement of man or woman providentials and some may be afraid of primaries. But we must never be afraid of the people and the way they can express themselves" Ségolène ROYAL, PS president of the regional council of Poitou-Charentes, considers that the primaries "must be a great moment democratic, open, transparent, honest" Martine AUBRY, first secretary of the PS, meanwhile, is embarrassed but speaks of "exemplary and transparent primaries" with many candidates.
