COP21 in Paris: historic agreement to limit global warming
An agreement to try to curb global warming was reached between 195 nations gathered in the framework of COP 21 in Paris, after 13 days of negotiations. A success that has been described as historic because it is a first after the failures of previous summits. Commentary on images of the plenary applauding room alternating with the excerpt from the speech of François HOLLANDE, President of the Republic, and the interviews of Prakash JAVADEKAR, Indian Minister of the Environment and Pascal CANFIN, WWF France. François HOLLANDE: "I undertake, on behalf of France, to review by 2020 our commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. I pledge to review the financial contribution, especially for the most vulnerable countries." Pascal CANFIN: "It’s not perfect, it’s true. Yes there are some grey areas in this agreement, but what I believe is that it launches a dynamic that is a snowball that will not stop".
