Yesterday, EDF announced a 20% increase in its tariffs over three years, stressing that electricity in France is cheaper than in the rest of Europe. The company, which is heavily indebted, says it needs more money to modernize and maintain its facilities. However, the final decision will be taken by the Ministry of Economy, EDF being a public company. The latter recognizes the need for investments but disapproves of such an increase. The commentary on factual and infographic images alternates with a micro-sidewalk with EDF customers and with the interview of Pierre GADONNEIX, EDF’s CEO and Christine LAGARDE, Minister of Economy.
