The subject presents a technical innovation: the electric derailleur, a French invention. In the past, cyclists used to operate a mechanical derailleur fixed on the frame to pass the speed. The electric derailleur, installed on the handlebar, is equipped with two controls and works with a battery. The cyclist rider Patrice ESNAULT gives a demonstration by explaining its advantages, completed by the interview with Yvan KITTLER, MAVIC technician, the brand that developed this invention. This novelty is experienced by some riders, but is still too fragile to be used on the pavement.
